CBAHI Obtains ISQua Accreditation
The Central Board for Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) has been accepted by International Society for Quality in Healthcare’s (ISQua) International Accreditation Program, thus obtaining an international accreditation from the world's best institution in this field. The Arbitration Commission of ISQua has approved the CBAHI Private Hospital Standards applied in the Kingdom, and found that these standards conform to the world's highest standards defined by ISQua, which are updated annually to keep pace with successive developments.
Dr. Mohammed Khoshaim, Deputy Minister of Health, and Chairman of CBAHI, said, “Obtaining the ISQua accreditation is recognized as a substantial step on our path of developing medical and healthcare services in Saudi Arabia. It is expected to enhance the standards set by CBAHI for accreditation of hospitals and healthcare centers and medical facilities. This is one of the objectives that the Central Board has long endeavoring to achieve, seeking to maintain the Kingdom's excellence in the field of healthcare services, and fulfill the wise leadership's aspirations to have CBAHI among the world’s referential institutions assigned to create strong infrastructure for the quality of medical and healthcare services in the Kingdom.”
Speaking of the positive impact expected to be gained from ISQua accreditation, Dr. Salem Al Wahhabi said, “Patients of healthcare and medical institutions shall be the first to benefit from this accreditation. Through the application of these facilities, the world’s highest standards will eventually be reflected in the quantum improvement of quality and safety of healthcare services provided. This will also be a positive reflection on all institutions accredited by CBAHI.”
