CBAHI training department is pleased to announce for “Risk Management workshop” as a beginning of a series for development workshops that will be in 2017.


Workshop Summary 
Risk management is routine in industry and has traditionally been introduced since quit long time. It is associated with limiting litigation costs. Many companies try to avoid financial loss, fraud or a failure to meet production expectations by implementing strategies to avoid such events. 
Recently, healthcare follows industrial sector in implementing risk management. Healthcare facilities use a variety of methods for managing risks. The success of a risk management program depends on the creating and maintaining safe systems of care, designed to reduce adverse events and improve human performance. 
Many facilities have well established systems in place for reporting incidents as patient falls, medication errors, retained swabs and misidentification of patients. Nevertheless, they are only beginning to focus on all aspects of clinical care to see opportunities for reducing risks to patients.

Workshop Objectives 

Upon conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of Risk management
2.To understand risk management tools effectively 
3.To effectively use risk assessment matrix for risk analysis and prioritization
4.To be able to select the appropriate strategy to control and mitigate risks 
5.To perform root cause analysis and corrective action plan comprehensively
6.To have the required skills selecting and performing FMEA
7.To be able to draft and implement risk management framework/program organization wide

Cardiologist and Clinical Toxicologist
Dr. Maged El Maghrabi, MD, MSc, is cardiologist, clinical toxicologist, healthcare quality and risk management consultant; AUC international instructor and certified professional healthcare risk management, he is a medical CBAHI surveyor and has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Recently, he chaired the preparation committee that led CBAHI efforts to acquire Organizational Accreditation by ISQua. He is also a member of several CBAHI committees. Currently he is head of Quality and Research department.






2- Dr. Ahmed Yahia Bahloul

Dr. Ahmed Yahia Bahloul is a Medical Doctor holding                                             
a Master in Public Health (Health Management and Policy) from the American University of Beirut (AUB). He is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) since 2009 and ever since he is providing training and consulting in quality, patient safety, health accreditation in the region and online. For 4 years now, he is playing the role of an adviser to the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) leadership in Saudi Arabia
